When using the UCF Invoker for performance testing why do I see Check in / Check Out failures with UCF Registry Exception?

Symptoms:

Check in / Check Out Operations fail with Registry Exceptions like the one below:

Cause

Because all virtual users on a single load generator are sharing a single registry to record checkout and check-in data, it is possible that some users will collide as they try to update the registry simultaneously.

Resolution

Modify the registry.mode in the C:\Documents and Settings\\Documentum\ucf\\shared\config\ucf.client.config.xml from "windows" to "file". Also make sure that the registry.file is set to a file to which user has access.

You can also modify globally via ucf.installer.config file located under wdk\contentXfer and set registry mode to file instead of windows.

After making above change restart the server and delete the UCF installation from the client.
